Meet the Governors

The School Governing Body comprises representatives from parents, staff, the community and the Local Education Authority. They are volunteers and can be contacted through the School Office.

Mrs Judith Davenport

Chair of Governors - Both of my children were lucky enough to attend Templemoor and my passion for the school and the fantastic learning environment it offers our children prompted me to firstly become a parent governor here. I am now a co-opted governor and am immensely grateful for the opportunity to continue my association with Templemoor and to work with such a professional and dedicated staff team on making our school the very best it can be. I have a degree in Management Studies and Spanish and my career has been varied with roles in manufacturing industry, Higher Education management and recruitment. I currently work as part of a busy administrative team in a local high school. I live locally and am married with two boys. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, exercise and reading.

Dr Nigel Jones

Vice Chair of Governors - I am the father of Dylan Jones and live close to Sale Moor village. I am a pensions actuary by profession and hold a number of company directorships. As part of my working life I sit on around twelve Trustee boards, many of which I chair, providing investment and pensions advice to many household names as well as certain well-known charities. I try to keep fit by circuit training and try to relax by playing golf in my spare time, albeit very badly. I also like to cheer Dylan on when he plays football for Sporting Sale!

Councillor Liz Patel

Local Authority Governor - I am delighted to have joined the board of governors at Templemoor. My professional background is in project management and community liaison, holding roles within local authorities and a private construction company. I have three young children who attend a Trafford primary school and I volunteer with groups that support local families and provide activities for pre-school children. In what spare time I have I enjoy current affairs and making the most of family time.

Mrs Maureen Haddock

Co-opted Governor - I have been a Governor for over four years and thoroughly enjoy the role. I have had a long and varied career in Education and have a background in Primary Headship and Educational Consultancy. My grand-daughter attended Templemoor and is now at Sale High School. At Templemoor she received an excellent early education full of fun, challenge and individual care. I am Chair of the Teaching and Learning Committee and a member of the Extended Services Committee. One of my other roles within the school is being part of the team working together to achieve the Rights Respecting Schools Award (Unicef). Working and engaging more directly with the children is really enjoyable. I live locally and take an interest in community activities. I am a very keen gardener, walker and theatre goer.

Mrs Siobhain Easter

Co-opted Governor - I have recently joined the Governing Body and sit on the Teaching and Learning committee. I currently work as a Project Manager in the HE sector and have a background in delivering business change and IT projects. I am also a qualified teacher, with recent teaching experience across Key Stage 1 and 2. I live in Urmston with my husband, son and daughter. My son has just finished Year 8 and my daughter Year 6, so we are saying goodbye to the primary school years! When I’m not working, I enjoy baking, fell walking and spending time with family and friends.

Miss Marsha Stevens

Mrs Fiona Morgan

Mr Ashley Whittaker

Parent Governor - I joined as a Governor in 2024. I graduated with a degree in Physics and I now work as a commercial airline pilot. With this I get more free time in the quieter months which is great for family life. Both my children attend Templemoor and my eldest will be moving onto Moorlands in 2025. Outside of work I love to learn new 'hands on tasks' like joinery, plastering etc.... I'm a keen fell runner and I get to the gym when I can.

Mrs Lynda Brown-Colbert

Parent Governor- I was elected as a parent governor in July 2024, and I’m thankful that my eldest son (now age 9) successfully completed his journey at Templemoor a few years ago. Currently, my second son is enjoying year one, and I also have a third son who is just 10 months old - hopefully, he’ll follow in his brothers' footsteps at Templemoor in a few years!

My professional background is in journalism, and I currently work as a Head of Content for the Mirror. Prior to this I was Head of What’s On for regional publications such as the Manchester Evening News, Liverpool Echo, and Birmingham Mail. Additionally, I founded and edited Lemon-Aid, a parenting newsletter created during the Covid-19 pandemic to support families in lockdown.

I am deeply passionate about equality, diversity, and inclusion, along with broader social justice issues, in both my personal and professional life. I believe that all children, regardless of their backgrounds or abilities, deserve the best opportunities and equal chances throughout their educational journey. I am excited to take on this role and contribute to making a positive difference in the school.
